Design
Zildjian's K. Custom cast cymbal ranges are designed to provide
more clarity with a quicker attack and faster decay than
traditional K. Zildjians. At a very thin weight these Splashes are
extremely light and fast. The new K. Custom Splashes utilize an
exclusive combination of K. Zildjian hammering and modern
techniques like over-hammering combined with a fine lathing pattern
of narrow and symmetrical grooves which stiffens the cymbal and
enhances its dry sound.
Development
"These new Splash cymbals are some of the most hotly requested new
products that we have ever had", said, Zildjian's Marketing
Communications Manager, Gregg Stein. "Ever since the launch of the
K. Custom range, dealers and artists alike have been asking us to
add Splashes to the K. Custom range. We had to figure out a way to
over-hammer such a small and thin cymbal to create the
characteristic dryness of the K Custom Dark Crashes. It took the
development of some brand new hammering technology but the results
are stunning. These are gorgeous cymbals. They are spectacular,
